ACTIVITIES, Culinary culture & Lifestyle

I surprised my partner with a trip to Mt Hay to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed for two nights but it felt much longer in the amazing relaxing setting. Anthony could not have been more accommodating as a host, offering plenty of recommendations of local wineries and beaches to visit, as well as taking us to feed their goats and even supplying our car with some oil when it overheated. The outdoor bath is an amazing luxury, the swimming pool and spa is great for a colder evening and the swing is a gorgeous spot that makes you feel on top of the world. Their two gorgeous dogs were the icing on the cake!

Beautiful gardens and birdlife with a magnificent view over the valley to the ocean.
Loved feeding the Koi fish along with the dogs. Andrew and Louise are perfect hosts and willing to help you with ideas about the area. Accommodation was excellent along with outside bath. A perfect place to escape

I was recommended to visit Mt Hay retreat, and I am so pleased I did. I surprised my wife for our anniversary. So what are then pluses here: no formal check in or checkout( yep, these guys know how to make your visit memorable)

The positives: The views; The silence; The privacy; Closeness to a range of great restaurants; Style and level of amenities; Great pool

The negatives: Every break has to come to an end!

Will we be back, you bet we will.

So thanks Anthony and Louise you made our stay very memorable, your hospitality was first class and your respect for privacy comes naturally to you

Breathtaking, Unique and incredible are 3 words I'd use to describe Mt Hay Retreat. The view will take your breath away, the area is green and lush with never ending views over the mountains. Access is via driving through an incredible rainforest and when you arrive at the top, the magic continues. The rooms are extra large and have everything you need. Pack some wine and goodies with you as you won't want to leave!
Electric vehicle charging is available, just ask the amazing hosts who are happy to run an extension cable for you.

The perfect place to relax, recharge and connect. Mt Hay offers rare tranquility in the most exquisite setting. Anthony and Louise and their beautiful furry friends are so hospitable and helpful, we will be returning for many years to come!

The next morning we wake to sunny clear-blue skies. Even from bed, I can see the lush mountains and valleys through the floor to ceiling windows which opens onto a spacious private deck and garden.

I’m not quite sure what I was expecting, but when I step through the front door the only word I can manage is, “Wow!” The view is staggering and it takes me a moment to process it.

I stood out on the deck soaking in the uninterrupted view which stretched all the way to the ocean, as the afternoon winter sun warmed my face. What school pickup?!
