Ok first of all - I feel terrible. We had the most amazing stay at Mt Hay at the end of August and I told the always gracious, helpful and available Anthony that I’d do a review that day.
Mt Hay retreat is so good. We went device free ish for the stay and just revelled in the beauty and abundant nature.
Anthony met us on arrival and showed us our beautiful room. I then peppered the poor chap with questions via text - all of which were answered quickly and with great grace.
We ended up on an unplanned wildlife bingo and he found us wandering around the grounds after nightfall looking for wombats.
Even with the night pollution from Nowra, we were treated to two nights of beautiful stars
The rooms are beautifully appointed. The bath in the escarpment suite is incredible.
We are definitely going to return. Stay for several nights if you can. We came home fully rejuvenated.

We had a wonderful stay at Mt Hay Retreat. Our room (Signature Suite) was beautiful, with magnificent views and breathtaking sunrises every morning. The huge bath on the balcony was an absolute highlight!
Anthony was a wonderfully attentive and kind host, and the property was simply stunning, peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway.
We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend Mt Hay Retreat.

What an incredible way to celebrate my 40th. Anthony and Louise are super friendly host's, we're very accommodating and added a few nice little touches to make the trip extra special. The property itself is stunning. Extremely relaxing with breathtaking views, enough to calm even the busiest of minds. We will be back for sure!

Weekend away - not to be missed!
We have been to Berry many times and this was the best!
A call to Mt Hay the day before to confirm our arrival time already indicated the care and helpfulness when Anthony answered the call.
The Luxury Suite exceeded expectation. From the spectacular direct view over the Berry valley, everything in the suite that opens and shuts.
We were met by Louise and Anthony on arrival and we were shown to our suite. It was exactly as advertised and more.
The property has been in Anthony’s family ownership since 1987, which they developed themselves, which underscores the love and passion they clearly demonstrated.
There is no doubt about a revisit when next in Berry.
Highly recommended - thanks so much Anthony and Louise!

Mt Hay Retreat – peaceful, private, and beautifully put together
We stayed in the Escarpment Suite and absolutely loved it. It’s quiet, private, and designed to help you switch off – floor-to-ceiling windows with expansive escarpment views, and a calm, open layout that makes you feel like you’ve got the whole hilltop to yourself.
The little hospitable touches were great – milk in the fridge, fruit on the table, a welcome note, and a bunch of brochures with useful suggestions for what to do in the area. Even though it rained most of the time, the suite was warm, cosy, and somewhere you’re more than happy to settle in and enjoy the quiet.
The bathroom was a standout – the spa bath with a view was perfect for a rainy afternoon soak, and the rain shower was just as good.
The grounds are also beautiful – everything is immaculately kept, from the gardens and veggie patches to the walking paths and the sculptures scattered around. The cloud swing is a bit of magic – floating above the valley with that view is a real highlight.
Anthony and Louise were lovely – friendly, helpful, and clearly care about making the place feel special. We’d absolutely come back.

If we could describe Mt Hay Retreat in just a few words, it would be paradise. Perched above the lush rolling hills of the South Coast, with sweeping views of the ocean curling into Gerringong, this stunning retreat offers a sense of connection to the sea even from a distance.
Beyond its breathtaking scenery, Mt. Hay is an oasis of tranquility, straight from your private, spacious suite with full-size sliding window doors opening up to your private terras. The soothing sounds of wildlife create a serene soundtrack to your stay, making it a truly immersive escape. Louise and Anthony’s warm welcome set the tone for an unforgettable experience.

Just spent a fabulous three nights at this stunning retreat.
The views are amazing and the wet room in the Escarpment Suite was ridiculous … wonderful rain head shower with excellent pressure and a massive two person bath to boot.
The pool and spa are also amazing.

We stayed 3 nights in the Escarpment Suite. Very modern open plan with an amazing view. The Retreat sits in a stunning rural landscape with distant ocean view and gorgeous gardens surrounding the suites. The indoor 33m swimming pool is brilliant for doing laps. Anthony was the perfect host.
We stayed in the Escarpment Suite that has a huge square bath. Loved it. This is the 2nd year in a row that we stayed at Mt Hay, in this suite, for our anniversary. It has fabulous views across the valley and to the ocean. There is also a huge indoor pool with jacuzzi, it was lovely. Anthony and Liz are very welcoming, it is a quiet place to unwind.

Me and my partner celebrated our 3rd year anniversary in this paradise! We’ve spent 2 nights here.
Anthony, the owner, made us feel so welcomed and even helped us with our packed bags and luggage into our suite.
He also gave us a lot of recommendations of where to eat and go!
Our room, the king suite is so beautiful and has a very nice breathtaking view. The room is huge even the toilet.
We’ve been provided with fresh fruits and milk too. The amenities inside the room are complete (some of them you have to ask, free if charge)
The pool is hugeeee! We enjoyed our swim! They also have a jacuzzi which is good for relaxing after the swim!
All in all our stay is superb! Highly recommended and we’ll definitely come back to this place!

What a wonderful retreat! The Luxury Suite not only provided a beautiful view but everything you would need or want for your stay and then some. They have taken time and care to look after the little things including super soft bath sheets, lovely bath products that smell very nice, large comfy bed and sheets and the list goes on!
The hosts are super nice, make you feel at home and are around if you happen to need anything.
The grounds at Mt Hay Retreat are beautiful and immaculate. I went on a couple of walks and always found something new to admire. This also included the large swing - what a lovely way to admire the view.
I highly recommend and hope to visit again soon!

Great place to stay for relaxing and soaking in the nature. Wonderful service and room is very big and comfortable. There is a beatiful garden walk around the site. The swing at the top of the mountain is a must to try. The view is magnificent. This place also has a beautiful swimming pool and a spa (forgot to take some photos). Mt Hay is a place worth to come again when possible 🙌

Lovely tranquil spot just 10mins up the mountain from Berry. Rooms are decently allocated size-wise and modern (green room was in any case). Well run and staff as annoying or out of the way as you need. Made the stay most enjoyable.

My wife and I stayed at Mount Hay for four nights and we couldn't have been happier. Our room had amazing views of Berry while the room itself had everything we needed. We went for walks, made use of the indoor pool, enjoyed breakfasts in town, there was plenty to do and help us relax and recharge. Our hosts Anthony and Louise couldn't have been more accommodating. They were very friendly and were full of recommendations for the local area. We left Mt Hay with plenty of great memories and I have already recommended this getaway to friends. Great place to getaway from city life and recharge.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Mt Hay Retreat!! The feeling of serenity being the only place up in the mountains, a giant swing overlooking the valley, amazing spa facilities and of course the view from indoors. Anthony and Louise were lovely hosts, making sure we had a comfortable stay. I also got to see a wild echidna so that brings it to a 5.5 stay... Highly recommend

Wonderful weekend getaway destination! Absolutely lovely service provided by Anthony and the accommodation was spacious, calming and accentuated nature. Everything we needed was provided in the room and we were always asked if we needed anything when we ran into Anthony. The views through the floor-to-ceiling windows were amazing and so relaxing. We were personally given a tour of Anthony's place and were shown to his many animals which was a delight and made the trip even more special. The room provides a map of all the features to see on the property which was such a great idea with the must sees being the pond and giant swing. The massages we ordered beforehand were also excellent and punctual which we had done in the living space! Beautiful resort, host and area.
