What is the difference between your suites?
All Mt Hay Retreat suites are large (approximately 80m²) and designed for two guests only, with spacious interiors and beautiful views across the property.
The main difference is in layout and bath design:
- Luxury Suites: Feature large interiors and outdoor baths on the private deck overlooking the views
- Signature Suites: Each has unique design features
- The Big Blue: Extra-large round outdoor bath on the deck
- The Escarpment Suite: Large square bath in a marble bathroom
- Berry Spa Suite: The only suite with an indoor spa bath for two in a vaulted ceiling bathroom
Each suite offers a different experience, so the choice depends on your preference for bath style, layout and setting.

Each suite accommodates a maximum of 2 guests only.

Where can I get the best rate?
The best available rates are always offered when you book directly with Mt Hay Retreat.

Do you allow one-night stays?
One-night stays may occasionally be available depending on availability.
We recommend checking our website for up-to-date availability or contacting us directly.
Can I pay by bank transfer or cash?
Yes. We accept bank transfer payments with no additional fees.
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining balance payable on arrival.
Can I buy a gift voucher?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available:
- As a stay package
- Or as a dollar-value voucher
Optional extras include:
- Champagne
- Flowers
- Massage treatments
Gift vouchers are valid for 3 years.
Check-In & Check-Out
What time is check-in?
Standard check-in is from 3:00pm.
Early check-in may be possible depending on availability. Please request this in advance and we will do our best to accommodate it.
If your suite becomes available earlier, we may contact you on the day.
What time is check-out?
Check-out is 10:00am.
A late check-out (until 12:00pm) may be available when booking or by prior arrangement, subject to availability.
Facilities & Amenities
Do you have internet and mobile reception?
Yes. Mt Hay Retreat has reliable internet and mobile phone coverage.
Do the suites have Netflix or streaming services?
Yes. All suites have Smart TVs with internet access.
Guests can log in to their own Netflix, Stan or other streaming accounts.
Do you provide DVDs or DVD players?
DVD players are available on request.
Please contact us prior to arrival so we can set this up in your suite.
Can I charge my electric vehicle (EV)?
Yes. EV charging is available by prior arrangement for a nominal fee.
We do not have dedicated EV charging stations, but external power outlets can be used.
Guests must bring their own charging cable.
Is there a swimming pool?
Yes. Mt Hay Retreat features a 33-metre heated indoor pool and spa, available exclusively for in-house guests.
With only six suites on the property, the pool is often quiet and private.

Are there taxis or transport in Berry?
Yes. Berry has a local taxi service that can be booked in advance:

Uber is sometimes available but should not be relied upon, so advance booking is recommended.
Where can I buy groceries or supplies?
Groceries, essentials and liquor can be purchased at:
- Berry IGA (open daily 6:00am–9:00pm)
- Specialty food stores and cafés throughout Berry township
If you need recommendations, we are happy to assist prior to your arrival.
Wellness & Extras
Do you offer massages or treatments?
Yes. We work with qualified local massage therapists who can provide in-suite treatments.
Options include relaxation massages and other wellness treatments.
Advance booking is essential. Please let us know your preferred timing before arrival.
Policies & Guest Information
Do you allow pets?
No. Mt Hay Retreat is unable to accommodate pets due to its protected escarpment environment and wildlife considerations.
Can non-guests use the facilities?
No. All facilities, including the pool and grounds, are exclusively for in-house guests.
Can I visit Mt Hay Retreat without staying?
No. The property is private and reserved exclusively for accommodation guests.
Pool Access
Is the pool private?
The 33-metre indoor heated pool and spa is shared between a maximum of six suites.
Because occupancy is limited to adult guests only, it is typically quiet and often feels private.
